Just load up on non-damage sources. Degen, life stealing, Spoil Victor (if you cannot kite away), etc.

Or use Shatter Delusions or Drain Delusions, they remove hexes from foes.

They only remove Mesmer hexes... Iron Mist is an Elementalist hex.

heh this is on HM evn with -10 it's still annoying and of COURSE he puts iron mist ON the boss so have to wait 30 seconds longer to kill it bahhh.

I agree.. it should be removed. Iron mist has no good purpose in PvE

Well, air Ele's are pretty awesome in Bloodstone so it's not a bad investment.
But otherwise is does seem a bit stupid that Gadd's more use to the enemy than you.

I personally think it would be nice if these "basic problems" were not caused by characters purportedly on my side. But I guess I'm off my meds.

Heh did I say it was impossible? Heh heck even with being invincible the final boss was a snap on HM, i't just more the annoyance, it's a bit more serious in the GOLEM creation level if your doing it solo unless you break your teams into two like I did as that invincibility can delay your chance of going back to save the second kiln.
